Bass Pro Shop Surprise.

The family packed into the car for a trip to the Bass Pro Shop to buy life vests, and spinner bait for my son.

If you knew my husband, you'd know that he is a stickler for getting exactly what's on the list. Once the list has been made and you've started the car, he has estimated how much is to be spent. Believe me, you don't want to throw him off. He's very kind, but will speak of it for days, sometimes weeks, or maybe just every time he thinks of it.

So, here we are making our way to the vests, and a salesman approaches us about a vacation package. Well, you all know how interested I must have been. But, knowing the rules, I acted as if I wasn't intrigued and casually walked away.

I couldn't believe what I was seeing. Mr. Stick-to-it was stuck in the salesman's trap. Of course, I traipsed back over to see what it was all about.

I promised to tell you all about my upcoming vacation, so here it is.

We purchased a 4 day/ 3 night Orlando,Fl. package to the Fountains Resort. I know, it's a timeshare thing, but it's only a 90 minute presentation and you don't have to buy in to take advantage of the stay.

What does it cost? We paid $149 up front. Then, the salesman gave us a $25 gift card that we used to buy our vests. Once we complete the presentation, we'll get a gas card for $75.00. So the total for the accommodation is $49.00. You can't stay at a Holiday Inn for that!

We have the option to purchase discounted tickets to area attractions, SeaWorld, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios, Discovery Cove, just to name a few.

I am very excited. This will be my first time on a promotional vacation and I am looking forward to reporting back to you. You'll have every detail, and I'll take my own photos and post them. Nothing will be left out, from the best to the worst.

Smart lady! We have never sat through one of those presentations figuring that there is probably a lot of high pressure to get you to purchase. Did you experience that?

Actually, the trip is scheduled for the end of July. During the trip I will post mainly to my blog Livinituptravel.blogspot to keep everyone up to date. I will take you through the whole experience of a promo vacation. It maybe good, it may be a disaster, but I intend to tell all.

These are great tips that I’ll have to keep in mind the next time we’re at the Bass Pro Shop. I hope a salesperson approaches me with a vacation promotion. The Bass Pro Shop has such a huge variety of gear for both rookie and avid outdoor lovers.

so how did the trip go? Was it a scam? How was sitting through the sales presentation?

My husband almost bought one today! How did the vacation go? Or was it a complete scam?

Scam...don't purchase unless you like giving away money and time.
